Baking with Damien

I'm so over winter. It's very isolating and it gets so cold and windy that it's miserable. 

Damien and I have started a monthly activity in 2022--baking! In January we made a lemon cake, and today for February we made a pineapple upside down cake. We both have a great time and it gives us something to look forward to. Maybe with enough practice we can start getting into more complicated designs or bakes, but we're mainly about the taste around here.

We chose the crying laughing emoji as the design.

I added the lemon frosting and Damien added the face. I think it turned out super cute!

I got a new wreath for my door--lavender! 

My dill is growing like a weed! I think this was about a month?

I had Damien harvest some of the dill to add to our potatoes. It was really good!

In other exciting news, I finished my diamond art project.
February's bake--a pineapple upside down cake!

We debated trying to create a heart shape or something for Valentine's Day, but opted for the traditional look.

The brown sugar was supposed to become a syrup which didn't really happen. I guess it's all just lessons learned for next time.
