Summertime Activities

Damien's Great Grandma bought him Five Night's at Freddie's: Help Wanted for his VR console. It's a horror game that he's been wanting for the longest time. I had a blast watching him play!

Damien and I decided to bake brownies this month instead of a cake. We were both craving them so badly. We made the ones with chocolate chip cookies baked into the brownies. Sooooooo good!

Yummy chocolate chip cookie brownies

With vanilla ice cream, of course!

I've been trying to get Damien and me out of the house a little bit more since it's summer and we've been cooped up all winter. We also have taken advantage of my apartment's indoor pool and hot tub a couple of times this month.

Grand Forks AFB had its first airshow in 11 years this month. I've never been to an airshow before and the day before the community event they had a rehearsal performance for DOD personnel only so there would be less crowds. I'd say it was a bit underwhelming. Damien would say it was "boring". Oh, and we also both got sunburned. Oh well, I tried.

Doesn't he look excited? lol

Damien spoke with the pilot for a little bit while checking out the cockpit

This week they had a kid's festival and Movie in the Park event. I was able to persuade Damien to go with the prospect of cotton candy lol

The park was so pretty!

Damien got his cotton candy. He was happy for a moment in time :)

The only thing Damien seemed interested in doing besides eating cotton candy was to ride the horse-drawn cart. He commented on how big the horses were.

Movie time! They played Encanto. It didn't start until 9pm and it was still very light outside.

It's been so hot lately and this weekend is in the 70s so I took advantage of that this morning and went on a 4 mile walk along the greenway with a nice cool breeze :)

Oh, I almost forgot! Damien's card that he picked out for Scott for Father's Day this month. I thought it was awesome :D

The Month of Sarah

May almost felt like a month dedicated to me with both Mother's Day and my birthday!

Damien decorated this little notebook for me at school for Mother's Day

Scott took Damien to pick out a Mother's Day gift for me. So sweet! I already ate a cookie before this picture was taken lol

Damien and me on Mother's Day. Look how tall he is!

My parents sent me some money for my birthday so I decided to get myself a few things. Not pictured are some new bed sheets since I only had one queen sized set and wanted another.
I ordered myself some crochet supplies and some drink mixes in various flavors

Here are my various attempts at a single crochet. It's hard!

Trying out a circle

For May's cake, I got to choose the flavor since it was my birthday cake. I picked a hummingbird cake, which is a spiced cake with banana and crushed pineapple with cream cheese frosting. It was good!

The birthday girl!

Yum!

On my birthday, Scott treated Damien and I to lunch at a Japanese Steakhouse. So good!
One of my favorite meals--steak and shrimp hibachi! I also got to try Taro Bubble Tea--yum!

Damien ordered sushi and wanted to try chopsticks for the first time :D

We made my cake a week before my birthday so we'd have time to eat it before I headed out to Washington to spend some quality time with my grandma. The whole trip was great! I bought a lot of stuff for myself (mostly clothes), and my grandma treated me to getting my hair and nails done. But the absolute best part was just spending some quality time together. I also got to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins which was very nice. Washington is so green and pretty and smells amazing! Too bad there's too many people there.
Tiger! It took him a few days to warm up to me enough to sit on my lap

Grandma and I :D

My last evening in Washington we ate at a marina. Very nice!
